A Toyota Aygo came into Car Vitals for an interim service. As with all of our services, the car also received a free pre-MOT style health check as part of the job.

More Than Just an Oil Change

We do not simply change the oil and send the car back out. The wheels are removed, the brakes are inspected properly, and hub faces are cleaned up where needed so we can spot developing safety issues before they become bigger problems.

Brake Faults Found During the Inspection

This customer is a regular who travels to us from Reading. During the inspection we found the front brake pads were close to minimum thickness and the front brake discs were below the manufacturer’s tolerance and heavily lipped.

The rear drum brakes also needed adjustment. When the rear brakes are not adjusted correctly, the front brakes can end up doing more of the braking work than they should.

Repairs Carried Out

The worn front braking components were replaced using OE equipment and the rear drum brakes were adjusted correctly. The hub faces were cleaned up and the vehicle was checked before being returned to the customer.

Back on the Road by 9:00am

The Aygo was serviced, inspected, repaired and back on the road by 9:00am. It is a good example of why a proper service inspection matters: a routine visit can uncover safety-related wear before it becomes a breakdown, MOT failure or more expensive repair.
